Modern, Experienced Wealth Management for Huntsville

The “fianancial advice” industry is broken.

“Advisors” are often only sales people….

…Planning is mearly a sales tool….

…and the services you need are not integrated in one place.

Capital Stewards was built to better serve families seeking to build and manage wealth. We are professional fee-only fiduciaries, not sales people. That means our client’s interests always come first. We start by building a long-term plan and then implement your plan using investment and other financial tools. Our approach integrates public and private investments, tax planning and tax preperation into one point of contact for your family.

More importantly, we help our clients be intentional with their assets, ensuring their investments align with their goals. What's your purpose in life? Where is your family going? Is your money helping you achieve your real goals? Not sure? We can help.

About Brian Seay, Founding Partner

Hi, my name is Brian Seay. I’m a professional who helps families build and manage wealth. As the founder of the Capital Stewards, I have the privilege of walking with clients everyday. Every family, including yours, can be confident about their financial decisions with the right plan.

I’ve been in the industry for more than 15 year. Over that time, I have served as an advisor to business owners and wealthy families and also designed strategies for the largest asset management firms. I am a CFA Charterholder and earned an MBA from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School. I am a member of the Financial Planning Association, the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Alabama.

When I’m not working with clients or watching markets, you will find me chasing around my 3 children (they are really in charge), making pizza (ask for the secret) or trying new restaurants around Huntsville.

Core Investment and Financial Planning Principles:

1) Goals and objectives form the foundation of investment decisions. The best investors in the world all have specific objectives they use to build their portfolios.

2) The goal is to grow your assets responsibly over the long-term, not to “beat the market” short-term.

Only 25% of active funds outperformed their passive peers over the past 10 years

3) Get the big picture right.

88% of investment return variance is driven by being invested long-term in the market and by asset allocation decisions

4) Taxes and Fees Matter.

$350,000

Simply reducing fees by 0.25% over 30 year may result in an incremental $350,00

17%

17% is the difference between the top long-term capital gains rate and the top federal income tax brackets. One day can make the difference in whether you pay up to or more than an extra 17% in taxes.

Investment Principles Footnotes:

1) Past performance is no assurance of future results.

2) Morningstar U.S. Active Passive Barometer, 10 Year Period Ending December 31, 2023

3) Ibbotson, The Important of Asset Allocation, 2010

4) Fee Assumptions: Assumes a $1,000,000 portfolio invested for 30 years with a 7% growth rate; fee reduced from 1.5% to 1.25%
